Auction of Agricultural Land with Farming and Tourism Potential

Add to the tourism appeal and economy growth of the farming town Calitzdorp by bidding on three portions of the expansive Farm Rietfontein.

GoIndustry DoveBid SA will be holding two auctions on-site on Thursday 28 September 2017 to first auction the three plots (to be sold separately), followed by the farming equipment and vehicles.

“Calitzdorp is a quaint farming town situated in the heart of South Africa’s Klein Karoo, nestled between majestic mountain ranges and boasting scenic farmlands and vineyards,” says Casper Rossouw, Auctioneer and Sales Representative.

“It is perfectly situated along the famous Cape Route 62, which brings masses of appeal – wineries, game reserves, hiking trails, 4×4 routes, canoeing and fishing. Its dryer climate and soil has seen Calitzdorp become one of the country’s best port wine producers.”

Rossouw continues that the Farm Rietfontein is improved with two labourer cottages as well as a four bedroom farm house and offers the opportunity for farming vegetation and cattle. It was previously used as grazing land for sheep and to cultivate lucerne.

“This farm further offers the owner-to-be the opportunity to add to the tourism appeal of Calitzdorp by developing a farm stall, coffee shop, art stall – wherever their imagination leads them!”

Both auctions will be held on Farm Rietfontein, Calitzdorp (GPS: 3332’42.6S 2154’01.9E). The property auction will be held at 11am, followed by the moveable auction at 12pm.
